Lately does it feel like you have more and more batteries that seem dead when you put them in your hearing aids? Or, the battery works for only a few hours and then dies, or is intermittent? One possible reason is that most hearing aid batteries now do not contain mercury. Hearing aid batteries contain zinc and are activated by air (or when you pull the sticker off the top of the battery). Try taking the sticker off of the battery and letting it sit for a few minutes before putting it in the hearing aid. This allows the battery to charge up more and we have noticed that this helps to reduce problems of “dead” or “intermittent” batteries.
